KNOWING JESUS CHRIST AS LORD By Larry Kreider TOPIC: What If I Forgot Something? I have often been asked the question, "What if there is something I forgot to give to the Lord after I give my life to Jesus?" Well, suppose I give you a book. Three weeks later I find two pages that belong in that book, so I mail them to you. That's the way it is with God. The Holy Spirit will bring to your mind the things we have overlooked. When the Spirit reveals these things, we turn them over to the Lord. Titus 3:5 tells us, "...not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." God is a merciful God! He is not in heaven with a big stick hovering over our heads, waiting for us to miss something that we have not given fully to Him. The truth is, we will continue to turn over to the Lord new areas of our lives that we have not realized we are holding on to as long as we live. Friends of ours told me a story about their early days as believers in Jesus Christ. They were both recently converted to Christ and were living together, although they were not married. Ond day this young man read in the Bible that fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. He had no idea what a fornicator was, so he looked it up in the dictionary. To his surprise, he found out that he was living a life of fornication by living with his girl friend and committing sexual immorality with her. He called her at work and told her. They immediately confessed their sin to the Lord, stopped living together, and were married a short time later. Today they are both involved in Christian ministry. They were willing to obey the Lord when He revealed an area of their lives that had to change. 
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER: Read Titus 3:5. Why has the Lord saved us? How do we know if we forgot to surrender something to the Lord?
